(A New) Home

Home
Phillip Phillips

Hold on to me as we go
As we roll down this unfamiliar road
And although this wave is stringing us along

Just know you're not alone
'Cause I'm gonna make this place your home

Settle down, it'll all be clear
Don't pay no mind to the demons
They fill you with fear
The trouble—it might drag you down
If you get lost, you can always be found

Just know you're not alone
'Cause I'm gonna make this place your home

Settle down, it'll all be clear
Don't pay no mind to the demons
They fill you with fear
The trouble it might drag you down
If you get lost, you can always be found

Just know you're not alone
'Cause I'm gonna make this place your home

The Best

Dear Family,

Without being able to accurately sum up how I feel, it really all boils down to three words...You're The Best.  The words sound too simple when I say them, but the emotion behind them is immeasurable.  Truly, the best.  I speak for myself, Kevin, Zoey, and Kaia when I say you are all so special to us and fill our hearts with so much happiness.  The smiles you put on our girls' faces are priceless.  The way we feel "at home" with you is the true definition of what family means.  Thank you for the send off - exactly what I needed before boarding that plane.  I know the tears come from deep within and are filled with too many emotions to even begin to name.  I know mine are.  It will be incredibly hard to be away from you, but, in the end, we'll look back on this time and realize it was a testament to who we are...because nothing will have changed.  Sure, we'll all be a little older, but we won't grow apart.  Our relationship won't have changed...because we're family.  We'll just have more stories to tell over a beer or a glass of wine...more stories to make each other laugh.

We love you and will see you soon.

Blurry Little Blip

Although it has happened more than once in my life, the feeling hasn't dulled.  Pure joy.  A warm heart.  Giddiness.  A rush of excitement.  Love like no other.  All from a blurry little blip.

Its black and white...not much to see really.  But, that blurry little blip - that fuzzy "pum pum" that flickers on and off the screen - it means so much.  Its almost too big for me to even put into words.  Its a feeling of happiness that rivals all the other happies in your life put together.  Its the start of something huge.

That blurry little blip.  That tiny beat that will soon motor little smiles and the pitter patter of little feet.  My heart grows each time I've seen it...and this time?  Well, this time I knew it was love the second I saw it.  That blurry little blip...I can't wait to meet you.
